Kalla launches presidential campaign in East Nusa Tenggara

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LOMBOK - Presidential candidate Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo and his running mate, Jusuf Kalla (JK) will rely on volunteers' role to draw more voters for July 9 election. During his campaign in East Lombok on Thursday evening, Kalla promoting candidate number 2.

"Our time is less than 20 days. We have to work hard to convince people to vote Jokowi-JK," Kalla said in his speech in front of thousands of Islamic Boarding School of Nahdlatul Watah's students on Thursday evening.

While at different location, Regional Chairman of Indonesia's Democratic Party of Struggle, Frans Lebu Raya expects followers and sympathizers to promote Jokowi-JK including at the church. 

"Tell your family, relatives and your closest friends to choose Jokowi," Raya said at Flobamora Stadium, East Nusa Tenggara.  

Head of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Fatayat Ida Fauziah in her statement at Islamic Boarding School of Ahlus Shofa Wal Wafa encouraged female voters to support Jokowi-JK. 

According to her, smear campaigns had attacked Jokowi-JK among Muslims, especially women. However, she believes that Islamic teacher could repair the pair's image.
