Minister: President to relaunch five major airports

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation, EE Mangindaan said that President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono would relaunch five major airports in Indonesia.

"I have reported it to the Vice President that five major airports are prepared to be launched in soon," Mangindaan said on Thursday.

Those five airports are Kualanamu airport in North Sumatra, Sepinggan airport in East Kalimantan, Sultan Syarif Kasim II airport in Riau, Juanda airport in East Java and Ngurah Rai airport in Bali. This year, 14 other small airports will also be commissioned. Four of them are located in western Indonesia, while the rest are in eastern Indonesia. 

Mangindaan added that eight small ports were also ready to operate. Two of them are container ports.
