REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has instructed Indonesian Embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs to relocate Indonesian citizens in Ukraine following the latest condition in the country. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marty Natalegawa explained that government would anticipate this condition.

"We have reported this matter to President. We try to relocate our citizens, such as families of Embassy to safe places," Natalegawa said on Tuesday.

There are only 60 Indonesian citizens living in Ukraine. Majority of them stay in Kiev. However, there are citizens scattered in other cities and relocated to nearby countries. Indonesian Embassy in Ukraine is still working despite unstable situation. According to Natalegawa, the Embassy actually has to provide information and to accommodate citizens who require protection.

Indonesia takes similar stance toward crisis in Ukraine or any other countries involved in conflict. Natalegawa called on all parties to refrain and promoting peaceful settlement. United Nation (UN) Security Council is also maintaining its duties to bring peace to the world.
