Bali governor admits to be main target of terrorist

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR -- Governor of Bali, Made Mangku Pastika admitted that he became the number one target of terrorist. He is worrying if there are secret intruders in various activities in Bali.

"If you say the number one target of terrorist in Bali, it is actually me. So in this situation, I am afraid of thing like that because it will hurt us," Pastika said in a dialogue on Sunday.

He explained that there was no Indonesian anti-terror squad Detachment 88 without him. There was no anti-terrorism act without him. Pastika has undergone a long process and stories behind many bombing cases in Indonesia and why it happened.

Pastika concerned the existence of radical groups who set a provocative banner reads 'Cut the head of Mangku Pastika' in western corner of his office on Wednesday last week. He said if the banner was the work of people who have grudges to him.

The former police chief of Bali said that he had never questioned the action as it was the right of citizens. He also said that he would not interfere legal process of the case to Bali Police. He perhaps the banner just for a show. However, the action it is so provoking. Mutia Ramadhani/Antara
