REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -  The National Mandate Party (PAN)'s Chairman Division for Elections (Bappilu), Viva Yoga Muladi said that moratorium on mass media campaign was not effective. He said that there was still a disagreement related to the advertising material or public service announcement campaign.

"We can accept the moratorium. But the question is whether political parties obey the moratorium?" Muladi said recently.

There are many interpretations related parties' advertising in print and electronic media, especially in the determination of whether the category of advertising campaigns or public service ads. For example, material campaign must express the vision, mission, program and party's invitations.

Muladi said that the idea of a moratorium should be directed to the matter of how to make the perception and interpretation of public service advertising. The issue of the existence of political parties that are categorized violated election laws on campaign completely determined by The Election Supervisory Committee (Bawaslu). This institution must work objectively and fair and does not favor a particular group. Party's campaign is a part of political educations to people.
