Four people still missing in landslides in Jayapura

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAYAPURA -- Four people are still missing following Saturday's landslides in Jayapura, Papua, police said here on Sunday.

Five people were already found dead in the landslides at Jalan Perwakin Dok 5, city police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Alfred Papare said.

Alfred Kobepa (15 th), Nela Kobepa, Aleksandro Kobepa, and Ronald Kobepa were believed to be still buried under the piles of earth, Papare said.

Those found dead were Elias Sohilait, Kristin Yauwen, Deasy Nauw and Melky Nagapa.

Four other injured victims are still treated at a local hospital , Papare said, adding search would continue on Monday for the missing four.

Heavy rain triggered flooding also damaged a number of houses in Jayapura and nearby areas .
