REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - State owned lender PT Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) plans to issue bonds worth four trillion IDR this year to strengthen company's capital. Director of BTN, Maryono said that he would asses the market first before the company made decision on the bond type and its timing.

"We will check out the best time in the first half or second half 2014 before issuing the bonds," Maryono said recently.

The publicly listed company will maintain its capital adequacy ratio (CAR) at 16 percent level. The issuing bond is the right choice to add the company's capital because any business expansion, especially loan can erode company's core capital.

BTN targets its credit growing 17 percent in 2014 compared to 23 percent last year based on Bank Indonesia (BI) recommendation. Company also eyes mortgage loans in range of 15-16 percent compared to 19 percent in the last year.
