Jakarta to build nine new reservoirs to contain floods

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Jakarta provincial government will build nine new reservoirs to contain flooding in the capital city. Two of them will be built this week in Rorotan and Cengkareng. 

Jakarta governor, Joko Widodo or popularly known as Jokowi, said that the land acquisition for the construction was already completed. The two new reservoirs is expected to be completed within two years.

"We cooperate with Jakarta Public Works Department," Jokowi said on recently.

The reservoirs will to store rainwater. Head of Jakarta Public Works Department, Manggas Rudy Siahaan said that the construction budget had been prepared in regional budget 2014.
