REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAKASSAR - Gowa Tallo Sultanate in South Sulawesi and Sulatanate of Malaysia are working to develop tourism to preserve cultural heritage. Advisor of Gowa Tallo Sulatanate, Muhammad Nasrun said that after Royal Mahaputra at Fort Rotterdam event in Makassar, tourism between the two countries had received good response from Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

"There is memorandum of understanding between Gowa Tallo Sultanate with Malaysian Sultanate Council for tourism development and cultural preservation," Nasrun said recently.

There are several important points in the MoU, such as development of tourism in two countries and preservation of cultural in tourism side.  The agreement was signed by Sultane of Gowa Tallo (I Paricu Muhammad Akbar Amir Sultan Aliyah Karaeng Manaba Ma'gau) and representative of Malaysian Sultanate (Datok Sri Rozaini Binti Nawai). The event was witnessed by Head of Batte Selapang (Abdul Razak Tate).

Cooperation between Gowa Tallo Sultanate and Malaysia has existed since hundreds years go as both sultanates have the same family roots.
