Jasa Marga to open five new toll roads

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - State owned toll road operator, PT Jasa Marga will open five new toll roads total 47.3 kilometers (km) long.These five toll roads will be operated next year.

The five toll roads are Kebon Jeruk - Ulujami toll road (7.07 km), Kedunghalang - Kedungbadak (2 km), Ungaran - Bawean (12.3 km), Gempol - Pandaan (12 km) and Gempol - Rembang (13,9 km). Company has completed the construction of two new toll roads along 18.23 km, namely Bali - Ngurah Rai toll road (12.7 km) and Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) W2 North connecting Kebon Jeruk - Ciledug (5.53 km).
"JORR W2 toll road is still for trial," Finance Director of Jasa Marga, Reynaldi Hermansjah recently.
JORR W2 toll road is expected to reduce the traffic congestion in the city up to 30 percent. Transportation vehicles from Bekasi and Bogor do not need to cross highway if they want to go to the airport. In its final operation, JORR W2 will connect a number of toll roads, namely Jakarta - Cikampek, Jagorawi, Jakarta - Serpong and Soediyatmo toll road.
Bogor Ring Road toll road is expected to reduce vehicles' congestion from Yasmin Street to Jakarta via Jagorawi toll road, while Ungaran - Bawean toll road will ease the traffic in arterial roads. This toll road will also shorten travel time from Bawean to Semarang, from one or two hours to 30 minutes.
