Coca Cola invests 30 million USD in Medan

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MEDAN - Australia based Coca Cola Amatil Indonesia (CCAI), producer and distributor of Coca Cola brand for Asia Pacific region will invest 30 million USD in Medan, North Sumatra. Coca Cola plans to build new distribution center in the area of 11 thousand square meters.

"It is an investment to support our business in Indonesia. Regional distribution center is built to integrate volume of production and distribution into one area," Acting President Director of Coca Cola Amatil indonesia, Stuart Comino said on Friday.

Comino added that company's business in Indonesia continued to grow 15 percent this year. It is supported by vigorous penetration of Coca Cola refrigerator in market.

This investment is realization of planned expansion of production capacity and distribution of Coca Cola in Indonesia. This expansion is conducted to improve level of service to provide the best for all customers drinks in indonesia.

Annual production capacity of Coca Cola factory in Medan reaches 30 thousand crates per day. Coca Cola also has built larger regional distribution center in Cibitung, Bekasi which has been operating in early 2013. Beside Bekasi and Medan, company plans to build another regional distribution center in Semarang, Central Java and it is targeted to be completed in July 2014.
