Eighteen oil and gas blocks to be auctioned off

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Eighteen oil and gas blocks -mostly located in eastern Indonesia- are to be auctioned off in the first round of 2013. In a written statement on Monday, Directorate General of Oil and Gas in Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources mentioned those blocks would be offered through direct bidding, while two others through regular tender.

Blocks offered through direct bidding are Palmerah Baru block in South Sumatra and Jambi, Sakti (Central Java and East Java), North Madura II (East Java), Anugerah (East Java), East Bontang (East Kalimantan), North Adang (Makasar Strait). Next, South Sulawesi I block in West and South Sulawesi, Sulawesi II (South Sulawesi),  South East Sulawesi I (South East Sulawesi). 

The other three blocks are in Maluku, namely West Abadi, Yamdena and South Aru. While blocks in Papua are Black Bird's Head and Merauke block in Papua.

Two oil and gas blocks offered through regular tender are East Seringapatam block in East Nusa Tenggara and East Abadi block in Maluku. The auction process started from September 16, 2013.
