REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Malaysian government started to raid Pekerja Asing Tanpa Izin (PATI) or Foreign Worker Without Permission on September 1, 2013.Based on data, there are about 200 thousand Indonesian workers who legalized their status but they haven't gotten permits from government of Malaysia. Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur will continue to monitor and coordinate with Malaysian government to form a task force.

"We ask that all arrested workers are reported to Embassy," Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia, Herman Prayitno said recently.

Prayitno asked Indonesian workers who would come to Malaysia to complete their documents and use worker agencies permitted by Indonesian government.

Malaysian government has actually routinely performed an audit of PATI such as happened in Johor or Tawau. Those who want to work in Malaysia have to fulfill all requirements.
