Islamic boarding schools teach anti-corruption

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, GORONTALO - Group of Leaders in Islamic Boarding School and Islamic Education in Gorontalo paid intention on moral education to instill anti-corruption behavior. Inspector General of Ministry of Religion Affairs, Muhammad Yasin said that corruption was misdeed.

"We need a formulation system to educate since early years to prevent corruption. Islam institution, such an Islamic boarding school, from long time ago has became a place to teach prevention of corruption," Yasin said on Monday.

Islamic boarding schools sometimes teach strictly and deeply about religion and religious law related to halal and haram. The deep understanding of the misdeeds of corruption is hopefuly can prevent their students to involve in corruption in the future.

Yasin analogies, when people's behavior is getting worse, then corruption will be more fertile. Therefore,it requires education of corruption prevention for youth. Education is a massive and intensive tool to teach anti-corruption in Islamic boarding school.

Hundreds of ulemas gathered in Gorontalo from across Indonesia. Leaders of Islamic boarding schools attended the Sports and Arts 2013 in Gorontalo.
