Jokowi to promote 'Enjoy Jakarta' to Malaysia

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Governor of Jakarta Joko Widodo or known as Jokowi, plans to be involved directly to promote potential tourism in Jakarta through a program, Enjoy Jakarta. He emphasized that the visit would not burden Jakarta provincial budget.

Next week he plans go to Malaysia for two days and he brings two Indonesian popular singers who also are popular in Malaysia, Rossa and Ungu.

"We will promote Jakarta to Malaysia next week but we will not stay long there. We bring more dancers and cultural figures instead of governmental officials," Jokowi said on Friday, as reported on the province's official site, beritajakarta.

A number of top musicians will also hold an Indonesian art performances to support the Enjoy Jakarta program. the event will take place in Kuala Lumpur on June 14, 2013. Not only Rossa and Ungu, two Malaysian singers, such as Siti Nurhaliza and Amy Search will also perform on the stage. The visit will not only aim to promote tourism but also to learn about deep tunnel system in Malaysia.
