Aceh Police Urge Residents to Delay Travel Due to Disruption of Many Roads

The impact of flooding in Aceh triggered a number of bridges to break and the national road body to landslide.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDA ACEH -- The Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) of Aceh Police appealed to people in Indonesia's western tip province to postpone road trips for the next few days. Many roads have been cut off due to flooding and landslides in recent days.

Aceh Police Traffic Director Kombes Deden Supriyatna said that the impact of the flooding triggered a number of bridges to break and the national road body to landslide. “This condition causes national road access in some districts/cities in Aceh Province to be impassable. We appeal to road users to delay road trips,” he said in Banda Aceh, Saturday (29/11/2025).

Deden mentioned that there are no alternative routes to and from the region where land transport is cut off. Distribution of aid to flood victims temporarily used the airstrip.

According to him, the roadway that can be traveled is for the eastern coast of Aceh Province only from Banda Aceh City to Bireuen Regency. Other regions have not yet been able to connect.

“Some other flooded areas, such as North Aceh district, Aceh Tamiang district, Bener Meriah district, have not been contactable,” Deden said.

For the Bireuen police station area, he said, there are two points of the national road impassable with the bridge breaking up in Tingkeum Village, Kuta Blang District. The bridge connects Bireuen Regency with North Aceh Regency.

In addition, the national road Bireuen to Bener Meriah District, is impassable due to a broken bridge in Teupin Manee, Juli Subdistrict, Bireuen District. Next in the area of Lhokseumawe Police Station there are three impassable points, namely in Bungkah Village, Muara Batu District, North Aceh Regency, it cannot be crossed because the flood height reaches 80 centimeters (cm).

Next, a flood point in Tambon Baroh, Dewantara District, North Aceh Regency, with the flood height reaching 1.5 meters. Later, flooding in a road section in Cot Mee Village, Nisam District, North Aceh Regency, with the flood height reaching one meter.
