At leas 14 people dies at Big Gosan Freeport

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAYAPURA -  At least 14 people died in victims at underground tunnel Big Gosan, Mimika, Papua, while other sources mentions the death toll has reached 17. There are 39 people in the collapsed underground room. And now, 14 of them still trapped in the landslide.

"We would continue to deliver additional information of the latest development related to the incidents at Big Gosan," Vice President Corporate Communication of PT Freeport Indonesia, Daisy Primayanti, said in a written statement on Monday. 

Minister of Manpower and Transmigration, Muhaimin Iskandar visited five victims who were hospitalized at Premier Bintaro hospital, Tangerang, Banten. " I will contact PT Jamsostek and tallk about compensation for the victims," Muhaimin said. For the dead victims, his family would receive compensation 48 times of the salary.
