REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Presidential Spokesman, Julian Aldrin Pasha, announced that President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono would soon appoint a new Minister of Youth and Sports. Former Minister, Andi Mallarangeng, left his office in early December after he was announced as a suspect of Hambalang graft case.

"President will soon appoint new minister of youth and sports," Pasha said on Wednesday.

He explained that the candidates came from various backgrounds. Some even proposed themselves. "They have willingness to contribute to the country," he said.

However, Pasha claimed that he had not been informed about reshuffle in Indonesian United Cabinet II. "There is no plan on reshuffle," he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Central Board of Indonesian Democratic Party for Struggle, Maruarar Sirait, suggested SBY to reshuffle its cabinet. Based on the report from the Presidential Working Unit for Supervision and Management of Development (UKP4), several ministries have poor performance.

"We must replace ministers who cannot carry out people's mandate," he said.

He said that new ministers could adapt their new position as long as SBY appointed people who have professionalism, capability and integrity.
