REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration asks people to refrain over “provoking” advertisement offering Indonesian maids for sale in Malaysia. Senior Staff at the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration, Dita Indah Sari, also hopes the case does not affect bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Malaysia.

"Every party must refrain," he said on Tuesday.

She explained that the Attache of Indonesian Manpower and Consuler in Malaysia had visited the address mentioned on the advertisement. However, the address belongs to a barber shop Southern Guys instead of agent of Indonesian maids. Rubini, a name cited on the brochure, is not the agent but a health instructor instead.

The Indonesian representative also met with officials from Malaysian Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Indonesian Ambassador for Malaysia, Herman Prayitno, asked for explanation of the advertisement. Indonesian Government hopes Malaysia find out the person who spreads the advertisement on the next three days.
