REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LONDON - Indonesia and Germany collaborate in renewable energy sector as an effort to protect the climate change. "Germany admits that the potency of geothermal energy is in Indonesia," Indonesian Ambassador to Germany Eddy Pratomo said in a speech on workshop entitled 'The Potency of Geothermal Energy in Indonesia'.

The workshop which held in Indonesian Embassy in Berlin was a collaboration with German Ministry of Economy and Technology. A number of science research and survey proved that Indonesia has the biggest potency of geothermal energy in the world, Pratomo said in a press release on Sunday.

The number of geothermal energy in Indonesia almost reaches 40 percent of global reserve. Geothermal as a renewable energy source, is used to decrease people's dependency on fossil fuel in Indonesia.
