REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SURABAYA - The 25th Anniversary of Citynet gives a memorable impression to the host city, Surabaya, as the Citynet awards Surabaya as the best city in Asia Pacific. The Mayor of Surabaya, Tri Rismaharini, looked surprised to receive the award.

She seemed did not believe that the Heroes City won the best city among the hundred cities joined in Citynet international organization. "I am surprised! But I would like to thanks to all of participants, especially member of Citynet. Thank you," said the first woman mayor in Surabaya on Wednesday.

The award accompanies the Adipura Cup, an award for the clean and green city in Indonesia. Besides Surabaya, Seoul (South Korea), Yokohama (Japan), and Makati (Phillipine) also win the award as the best city.

Established on July 27, 1987, Citynet is the regional network of local authorities for the management of human settlements. It is committed to helping local authorities improve the lives of its citizens and create the urban sustainability across Asia-Pacific and beyond.
