REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Chairman of Indonesian Mosque Board (DMI), Jusuf Kalla (JK), encourages all mosques in Indonesia to support the inter-religious peace. “Masjid should be managed well to create inter-religious peace,” JK said on Monday after inaugurating the new board of DMI in Mosque Istiqlal, Jakarta.

The former Vice President said that mosque was not only a place for praying, but also an institution for solving religious and social problems. To increase the role of mosque, the theme of the inauguration is the improvement of mosque prosperity. JK is elected as the Chairman of DMI unanimously on national conference held last April. DMI has been built since 1972 and has board in each province.
