REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KRAYAN - Three airports in Indonesian borders on Malaysia would be developed to ease the delivery of logistic supply, the Governor of East Kalimantan, Awang Faroek Ishak, said. The total value of the project reaches 400 billion IDR from East Kalimantan local government's budget.

The projects are in Datah Dawai Airport in West Kutai, Long Apung Airport in Malinau, and Long Bawan Airport in Nunukan. Those are Indonesian borders on Malaysia's Sabah and Sarawak and also Brunei Darussalam.

Those airports will be developed to accommodate bigger plane. The Governor entrusts the project to Indonesian Army. "The one who can reach remote borders is Indonesian National Army," he said.

The Chief of Staff on Indonesian National Army, Edhie Wibowo, said the Army also had experience in infrastructure projects. He guaranteed the cost of the projects would be cheaper.

"We are transparent, in order, and also maintain our accountability in our duty," he said.
