SBY: Special task force to combat pornography

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) forms the Precaution and Management of Pornography Task Force through the President Regulation number 25/2012 signed on March 2. Cited from the website (www.setkab.go.id), the task force is responsible to the President.

The task is to coordinate the precaution and management efforts of pornography problem, monitor the implementation of the efforts, conduct socialization, education, and cooperation, and also carry out evaluation report. The task force is led by the Coordinating Minister for People’s Welfare Agung Laksono as Executive Chairman and the Minister of Religious Affairs Suryadharma Ali as Chairman. The members are the Minister of Communication and Informatics Tifatul Sembiring, the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Linda Gumelar, the Minister of Law and Human Rights Amir Syamsuddin, the Minister of Education and Culture M Nuh, the Minister of Home Affairs Gamawan Fauzi, the Minister of Industry MS Hidayat, the Minister of Trade Gita Wiryawan, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Mari Elka Pangestu, the Minister of Health Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih, the Minister of Social Salim Segaf Al Jufri, the Minister of Youth and Sport Andi Malarangeng, Chief of Indonesian National Police Timur Pradopo, Attorney General Basrief Arief, the Chairman of Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) Dadang Rahmat, and the Chairman of the Film Censorship Board (LSF) Dr Mukhlis Paeni.

They will hold the plenum once a year attended by its chairman and members and led by Executive Chairman. And periodic meeting attended by the members held four times in a year. “The Chairman must report the implementation of the task to the President annually and every five years,” cited on Article 26 (1) of the President Regulation.

The task force can form sub group coordinated by echelon I in the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The members are from the government and public, academy, practitioners, and law enforcement.
