Police says Indonesia as land of online child pornography case

Police have named three suspect in the case of online child prostitution in Bali, Tuesday (March 14).

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Police's Cyber Crime chief Grand Commissioner Adjutant (AKBP) Roberto Pasaribu has said Indonesia as land of child pornography via online.

He said it after had revealed the case of child pornography via Facebook account named 'Official Candy's Group'. "As many as 11 international networks in this case. It happened all over the world and Indonesia still as land for this (child pornography). Perpetrators and victims," Roberto said at Jakarta Police Headquarters, Wednesday (March 15).

In this case, the police have identified at least eight children as victims of the administrator of Facebook account, namely NNF (12), YAM (8), AQL (3), WD (8), ML (4), FSK (6) , AF (5), and RK (5). However, the victims in Indonesia may still increase.

Moreover, the police have found at least 500 videos and 100 pictures obscene treatment in that group. However, Roberto could not conclude whether it was Indonesian minors in the video and photo. "We still analyzing that. You can’t see the face of Asia, where? Thailand, or Philippines, or Indonesia? We should check it again," Roberto said.

Previously reported, Jakarta Police revealed cases of child pornography through social media during 2016 to 2017. In such cases, the police arrested the four perpetrators initials, WW (27), DS (24), DF (17), and SHDW (16).

Jakarta Police Chief Inspector General M Iriawan said the case started when the suspects created a group on Facebook named 'Official Candys Group'. Perpetrators acted as administrator of the group to make the group as a forum for sharing videos and images containing child pornography. "It was formed September 2016, and 7,479 members joined at group. Administrator worked as operator and four other people as suspects," Iriawan told reporters at Jakarta Police Headquarters, on Tuesday (March 14).
