REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) is currently developing three artificial intelligence-based technologies to make its service and operational systems more efficient and responsive to passenger needs.
“This technology will be a crucial foundation for a more integrated and sustainable future for public transportation,” director of information technology systems and services at Transjakarta, Raditya Maulana Rusdi, said in Jakarta on Thursday, June 17, 2025.
The first of these AI technologies is an AI Agent based on generative AI.
The agent is designed to interact directly and naturally with customers through chatbots and text-to-speech functionalities.
“This agent doesn’t just answer questions: it’s designed to be an agentic AI capable of understanding context, making decisions, and actively providing information for needs such as route information, arriving buses, or lost items,” Raditya explained.
The second technology, machine vision for operations, utilizes computer vision to analyze CCTV data streams. This system can detect the number of customers at bus stops, monitor fleet movements, and support data-driven operational efficiency.
