Foreigners flock to Central Java

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SEMARANG – The number of foreigners visiting Central Java in December 2011 via Adi Sumarmo airport increases to 11.29 percent than previous month. “The number of tourists in December 2011 hits 2.218 while in November only 1.993,” the Chief of Statistical Distribution in Central Agency on Statistics (BPS) Central Java, Jam Jam Zamachsyari on Thursday.

The increase of the amount of tourists in December 2011 is also seen if it is compared to the same period in 2010. In December 2010, the amount is only 1.681 people. The interesting fact is that, the increasing amount of the foreigners who prefer to stay at five star hotels. The increasing is about 71 percent. The lowest increase is the tourists who prefer one star hotels at about 33 percent. Averagely, they stay for two days in the hotel.
