REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, YOGYAKARTA -- The government probably will delay the deadline of fuel conversion plan, since the public are considered not prepared yet. Initially the plan will apply on April 1 2012.

"We do not want to impose the regulation on April 1 while the public do not have enough options to choose," Coordinating Minister of Economy, Hatta Rajasa, in Yogyakarta, recently. The government is reported still reviewing the plan and gradually conversion will be an option.   

"Premium fuel is not for private car. Yet, if we apply the regulation all at once. We need to sit together with the legislative body and review it," he added.  

Asked whether the deadline of conversion plan will be delayed, Hatta refered it to the legislative body. "We will apply it gradually," Hatta explained. Indonesia must slash its oil dependence due to less of supply while gas and coal are abundant in Indonesia.
