REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of House of Representatives (DPR) Setya Novanto reported Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Sudirman Said to Criminal Investigation Police. Setya Novanto reported Sudirman Said through his lawyer, Firman Wijaya.

'That's right, it was to sue Minister Sudirman Said," said Firman to Republika.co.id, Wednesday (9/12).

Firman explained, his client reported Sudirman Said because of the alleged insult and slander, including alleged violation of Law of ITE.

Previously, Setya Novanto was suspected to use name of the President and Vice President to discuss a contract extension of PT Freeport Indonesia. The allegations contained in a recording of conversation between Maroef Sjamsuddin and Riza Chalid.

If it was true, then Setya Novanto violated ethics as Chairman of House of Representatives. Currently, DPR's Ethic Council are processing the alleged ethic violation.

Attorney General was also investigating the case of Setya Novanto. The investigation was intended to the law enforcement.
