OJK Strengthens Digital Finance Through Various Initiatives

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Financial Services Authority (OJK) held the Digital Financial Innovation (Digination) Day 2024 event with the theme “Digital Transformation 5.0" in Palembang on Friday (11/10/2024) yesterday. In this event, OJK is committed to creating a more inclusive digital financial system and supporting Indonesia's economic growth.

Hasan Fawzi, Chief Executive of the Financial Sector Technology Innovation Supervisor, said that today's digital transformation is not only about new technologies, but also about incorporating social value in innovation. “We want to improve access to finance for all walks of life,” he said in a statement received Saturday (12/10/2024).

OJK has issued important policies, including POJK Number 3 for 2024 and Roadmap for the Development & Strengthening of Digital Financial Innovation (IKD) for the period 2024-2028. This roadmap will help the FSA plan strategic measures to strengthen the digital finance sector.

Hasan also introduced the concept of the Penta Helix Innovation Hub, which emphasizes the importance of cooperation between academia, government, industry, society, and the media. “With this collaboration, we can create better and beneficial innovations,” he explained.

The 2024 Digination Day event is also part of the Financial Smart National Movement (GENCARKAN) and Financial Inclusion Month (BIK) 2024, featuring various activities such as exhibitions, seminars, and competitions involving many parties.

Acting Governor of South Sumatra, Elen Setiadi, provided support to OJK and hopes that this collaboration can help regional development, especially in the financial sector. “This activity is important to strengthen cooperation for the advancement of South Sumatra,” Elen said.

With more than 382 fintech companies listed and the value of digital transactions expected to reach Rp500 trillion by 2023, OJK is determined to continue driving innovation that can reach more communities unserved by conventional financial services. This transformation is expected to have a positive impact on the Indonesian economy.
