Ministry of Religious Affairs Holds National Evaluation of Hajj 2024

There are a number of things that the Ministry records in conducting Hajj worship.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Ministry of Religious Affairs) of Indonesia confirmed that it will conduct a nationwide evaluation of Hajj 2024 in Jakarta on 7-9 August 2024.

“Evaluation of the implementation of the Hajj as a whole on August 7-9, connect. We call and invite all PPIH and embarkation throughout Indonesia,” said Director General of Hajj and Umrah Worship Organization (PHU) Ministry Hilman Latief in Jakarta, Tuesday (6/8/2024).

Through this activity, Hilman said she wanted to evaluate the services provided to Indonesian hajj worshippers in the organization of Hajj 2024.

He has also prepared a number of things that have become a record of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the organization of Hajj, such as the provision of accommodation, transportation, consumption, etc., during the 64 days of Hajj worship in the holy land.

“This includes any strategic issues. Moreover, next year new regulations will be implemented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” he said.

For this reason, Hilman also said that she also invited the Saudi Arabian Hajj Ministry online to present an evaluation of what the Indonesian Government should do in the implementation of the Hajj in the coming year.

As for the Hajj evaluation to be carried out by the Special Committee for Haji Angket (Pansus Haji) formed by DPR RI, she hopes that the evaluation will lead to an improvement of Hajj services for all Hajj worshippers in Indonesia.

“We hope that the end of this dynamic process will be the improvement of Hajj services in the future, both in terms of services and scenarios that need to change,” he said.

In this year's Hajj observance, out of 213,320 quotas, there were 213,275 regular hajj departures to Saudi Arabia from May 12 to June 11, 2024.

Then, from June 21 to July 22, 2024, there were 212,720 people repatriated to the Motherland in 553 klots. As of the end of the operation, there are 46 Hajj still being treated in Saudi Arabia.
