REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- In the midst of the genocide by Israeli Zionists against Palestinian Gazans, a number of young Nahdliyin intellectuals secretly paid a visit to the occupied country of Israel.

In a photo obtained by Republika.co.id, the young intellectual met with Israeli President Isaac Herzog. It is not known exactly when the visit of the young Nahdliyin intellectuals was. Information obtained by Republika.co.id, they were in Israel during the last week.

Republika.co.id, on Sunday (14/7/2024) tried to contact one of the participants of the visit group, Gus Syukron Makmun. However, he was reluctant to comment further on his Visit to Israel.

In addition to Gus Syukron, a number of other young people appear in the photo, namely Dr Zainul Maarif, Munawir Aziz, Nurul Bahrul Ulum, and Izza Annafisah Dania.

It is known that Indonesia does not have diplomatic relations with Israel. This kind of visit, according to the information, was carried out secretly through intermediaries who could connect this kind of service with the Israeli government directly.

Meanwhile, an Israeli offensive in the southern Gaza Strip's Khan Yunis governorate has killed more than 70 people and wounded nearly 290 others, the region's health ministry said on Saturday.

Earlier, the ministry said that 20 people were killed and 90 wounded in the attack in the Al Mawasi area.

“The death toll in Israel's horrific massacre of residents and refugees in the Al Mawasi neighborhood of Khan Yunis Governorate is more than 71, with 289 injured,” the health ministry said in a statement.

The attacks targeted the military chief of the Palestinian movement Hamas, Mohammed Deif, and the commander of one of the Hamas units, Rafia Salam, Israel Army Radio said. The Al Arabiya news channel reported, citing a source, that Salam was killed in the attack.
