REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian women's national team coach Satoru Mochizuki called 27 players to join the training center that began at ABC Gelora Bung Karno Field in Jakarta on Tuesday (25/6/2024), in preparation for the test match against Hong Kong on July 11 and 14.

Some of the players called up previously had two sets of trials against the Bahraini national team, such as Safira Ika Putri Kartini, Zahra Musdalifah, and Claudia Scheunemann. The rest are new names. Garuda Pertiwi then won 3-2 and 3-0 against Bahrain.

“From the previous team, we changed players more. We are trying to give other players the opportunity to play, to where they can qualify for this team,” Satoru said during a training session in Jakarta, on the PSSI website on Tuesday.

“To play against Hong Kong later, I honestly don't know their strength and their game. For sure, whoever the opponent is, my goal is to give victory to Indonesia,” he said.

Two players of descent who grazed abroad Noa Leatomu (KRC Genk Ladies Belgium) and Estella Loupatty (AFC Vrouwen 1 Netherlands) have also joined. One hereditary player name will join, which is Djenna de Jong.

“These players are a combination of information from myself and of course PSSI, some of these players have come with me, and I am very satisfied with their performance,” he said.

“Today there are two hereditary players who took part in training and later one more person will follow. Both of them I see have enough speed,” explained the familiar coach Mochi.

The Japanese coach brought in a man from his country as an assistant coach, Takumi Taniguchi.

“Yes, there are changes in this team, not everything has come, the players are not all either, some are still in Japan. My hope is that these new players will be able to compete, and can be brought to Hong Kong,” he said.
