REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Democratic Party DPP General Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) said that his party has made commitments with DPP Chairman of the Gerindra Party and president-elect 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto, regarding the formation of the cabinet for the upcoming government.

He said that the Democrats entrust Prabowo fully with regard to the formation of the cabinet of the upcoming government. However, AHY also wants the Democratic Party to increasingly take a role in government.

“Let us trust him completely, do not burden Mr. Prabowo with excessive demands,” AHY said during a press conference at the Democratic Party DPP, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (24/4/2024).

According to him, the entire cadre of the Democratic Party should be disciplined and entrust himself completely to choose cadres that will help Prabowo when the time comes. “Democrats want to increasingly take on roles both in the executive and the legislature, both at the center level and the regional level, so after this let's move on, move forward,” he said.

As part of the Forward Indonesia Coalition, AHY stated that the Democratic Party is ready to succeed in the policies and programs of the government under Prabowo's leadership in the next five years. On the other hand, he also ensured that the Democrats would oversee and complete the work of the government under the leadership of President Joko Widodo until the end of his term.

“Now is the time for all of us to prove our resolve and commitment in fighting for the hope of the people,” said the eldest son of Indonesia's 7th President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).
