REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The founder of prominent beauty care company Mustika Ratu, Mooryati Soedibyo, died at the age of 96 on Wednesday (24/4/2024) at 01.00 WIB.
This news was conveyed by the former Indonesian Ambassador to New Zealand, Tantowi Yahya. Tantowi uploaded the sad news on his Instagram account, @tantowiyahyaofficial.
"Goodbye, Mrs. Moor. I hope that all of your good deeds and kindness during your life will make it easier for you to return to God's bosom. I testify that you are a good person who has done a lot of good for this nation," wrote Tantowi.
Tantowi remembers Mooryati as a visionary businesswoman. Tantowi also said that Mooryati's herbal medicine had provided many benefits for people's health and made Indonesia proud abroad.
Mooryati is the granddaughter of Raja Kasunanan Surakarta Paku Bowono X who started the herbal medicine business in 1975. Mooryati also founded Mustika Ratu in 1978.
In its development, Mustika Ratu produces various beauty and health products that are marketed in Indonesia and abroad, including in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and America. Mooryati is also known as the founder of the Puteri Indonesia Foundation and the originator of the Puteri Indonesia beauty contest, which has been held every year since 1992.
