Train Passenger Occupancy in Jember Increases During Nyepi Holiday

All trains departing from Daop 9 Jember tickets are sold up to 100 percent.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JEMBER -- Occupancy of rail passengers in the area of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operation Area 9 Jember, East Java increased during the holiday of Raya Nyepi and joint leave coinciding with the beginning of Ramadan 1445 Hijri.

“A number of stations in the Daop 9 Jember area from Pasuruan to Banyuwangi are crowded with people who will take advantage of the holiday time to travel by train. The overcrowding occurred since Saturday (9/3),” said Legal and Public Relations Manager KAI Daop 9 Jember Cahyo Widiantoro, in Jember on Monday.

On weekends, passengers in the Daop 9 Jember region usually range from 7 thousand to 8 thousand passengers, and for departures on Sunday (10/3/2024) it was recorded that 8,394 passengers had departed by train to several destination cities.

In fact, for Saturday departures (9/3/2024), the total number of passengers boarding in the Daop 9 Jember region reached 10,667 people, then for Monday and Tuesday departures (12/3/2024) a total of more than 12 thousand tickets have already been booked by passengers and the number will continue to grow.

“All trains departing from Daop 9 Jember have their tickets sold up to 100 percent for Saturday's departure (9/3/2024) ahead of the Nyepi holiday which coincides with the beginning of the fast,” he said.

Then on today's departure Sunday (10/3/2024) KA Sritanjung from Ketapang-Lempuyangan and KA Probowangi from Ketapang-Surabaya Gubeng and KA Tawanglun from Ketapang-Malang are most in demand among passengers.

“For people who use long-distance trains, if the ticket on the departure date or the desired bus has run out, they can use another bus or take advantage of the connecting train feature available on the Access by KAI application,” he added.

The feature will combine a connecting train schedule, so that passengers can still use KA on the desired date with departure from Daop 9 Jember.

“We would like to thank the people who use the train during the Nyepi holiday. KAI continues to be committed to delivering safe, safe, comfortable, and memorable rail journeys,” he said.
