Baznas DKI Holds Imam Tarawih Ambassador Program During Ramadan

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (Baznas) -Bazis DKI Jakarta held Imam Tarawih Ambassador Program during Ramadan 1445 Hijri, with 20 percent of them religious figure with disabilities.

“In this month of Ramadan, we recruited approximately 100 imams with meaningful readings, to be distributed to mosques,” said Director of Ramadhan Baznas-Bazis Committee of DKI Jakarta Muhamad Nurminto in Jakarta on Monday (4/3/2024).

Nurminto said the program is an effort by Baznas-Bazis DKI Jakarta to empower existing imams and provide for the needs of mosques or mushalas during Ramadan. In addition to the tarawih imam, Nurminto said, it also provided 100 lecturers to fill out studies during Ramadan, 20 percent of which also involved people with disabilities.

He explained that the Imam Tarawih Ambassador Program is a form of collaboration with the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta and its main goal is to empower generations of Quran memorizers. “We make sure that both priests and lecturers we will involve people with disabilities as much as 20 percent,” he said.

In addition, in Ramadan 1445 Hijrah Baznas-Bazis DKI also has a Home Surgery Program for families of Quran memorizers, who each receive IDR 55 million per house.

“If the family has memorized 10 juz or 30 juz, they can apply for the Home Surgery Program for tahfidz and of course they must coordinate with the ward and subdistrict so that there are no problems especially the land,” he said.

Nurminto, who is also the Head of Finance III Baznas-Bazis of DKI Jakarta Province, added that it still has some other excellent programs during Ramadan such as tattoo removal, free homecoming for the disabled and so on.
