REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) receives a ballot invitation letter from the Chairman of the Election Organizing Group (KPPS) at TPS 10, RW 02 Gambir Village, Central Jakarta, Hamdy Basjar at Istana Merdeka, Jakarta, Monday (12/2/2024). The ballot invitation letter was also addressed to First Lady Iriana Jokowi.
“We have just delivered a letter of invitation to vote for Mr. President and First Lady,” Hamdy said in a statement at the Presidential Palace Complex.
TPS 10 is located in the building of the State Administration Institution on Jalan Veteran Number 10, RW 02, Gambir Village. According to Hamdy, there are 120 residents registered as Permanent Voters at this polling station.
Hamdy explained that the polling station will be open from 07.00 WIB to 13.00 WIB. But new voting will start at 08.00 pm to 12.00 pm. “The 1 o'clock one is later possible for DPTB and DPK,” he continued.
However, Hamdy did not know what time President Jokowi and Iriana would arrive at the polling station. He only expected Jokowi to arrive around 08.00-12:00pm.
“He didn't tell. He asked what time he could come. I was asked if I could read it at 8-12, yes, I said yes, sir. So the odds of Mr. President coming in around 8-12. Five years ago, he also came around that hour,” he said.
On this occasion, Jokowi advised that KPPS throughout the region work honestly, fairly, decisively, and carefully. So that the election takes place honestly and fairly.
“It's a party of democracy, for people to enjoy the party of democracy,” he said.
