REPUBLICA.CO.ID, MANADO -- Election sequence number 2, Prabowo Subianto campaigned in his mother's hometown in Langowan, Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi, Monday (5/2/2024). In the event entitled 'Prabowo Greets Hometown', Prabowo was accompanied by a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Campaign Team (TKN) Prabowo-Gibran, General (Purn) Wiranto.

During an event attended by thousands of people in Schwarz Square, Prabowo asked Wiranto to sing. According to him, the former ABRI Commander was not only a fighter, but also sang. Because, in the military environment, it is taught that a leader must also be able to entertain his men and the people.

“I ask Mr. Wiranto to convey a few words and comfort the people of Langowan, my Mother Land here,” Prabowo said.

Wiranto then delivered a short speech about the reasons for choosing Prabowo-Gibran. She then sang a number of songs, ranging from pop songs, eastern Indonesian songs, to original Minahasa songs. As the music played out, Prabowo appeared to jog on stage. Wiranto also occasionally jogged.

Before the campaign in Schwarz Square, Prabowo first visited the grave of his extended family, the Sigar-Maengkom Family. The former commander general Kopassus of the AD army sprinkled flowers on the tomb of his ancestors.

Prabowo's presence in Minahasa was greeted with enthusiasm by thousands of residents. Along the way from Sam Ratulangi Airport, Manado City towards Langowan residents gathered at the roadside to see the General Chairman of the Gerindra Party.
