Sivitas Academica Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) Yogyakarta calls on President Jokowi to remain an example in the practice of statehood. According to the attitude statement signed by the Rector of UII Yogyakarta Prof. Fathul Wahid, President Jokowi should be neutral, fair, and be a leader for all groups and groups.

Sivitas academika UII also requested that the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representative Council (DPD) actively supervise, ensuring the government runs according to the constitutional and legal corridors. On the other hand, the president, vice president, ministers and regional heads who became successful teams as well as the campaign team of one of the candidates were also asked to resign from office.

In addition to UII, previously a number of academic civics of Gadjah Mada University (UGM) consisting of professors, lecturers, students, and alumni gathered at Balairung UGM on Wednesday (31/1/2024) afternoon. They submitted the Bulaksumur Petition to address the current state of national politics that was judged to have deviated.
“We academicians of Gadjah Mada University, after looking at the dynamics that have taken place in national politics over recent times while remembering and paying attention to the values of Pancasila and the identity of Gadjah Mada University, expressed deep concern about the actions of a number of state organizers on various fronts and levels that deviate from the moral principles of democracy, population, and social justice,” Prof. Kuntjoro said, reading the petition representing the community academica, Wednesday (31/1/2024).
In the petition, it was also stated that the UGM academic community regrets the deviant actions that took place during President Jokowi's administration. In fact, Jokowi is part of the extended family of UGM.
UGM academics view ethical violations in the Constitutional Court (MK), the involvement of a number of law enforcement officers in the ongoing representative democratic process, and President Jokowi's contradictory statements.
