REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PONTIANAK -- The government continues to pay attention to Indonesia's potential demographic bonus in 2045. One of the things that is done is to prepare the golden generation early through family roles, both targeting parents, among children, and adolescents.

Head of the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN), Dr Hasto Wardoyo, said there was a lot of preparation to be done to start a resilient family. He thinks it should start as a teenager. He added that teenagers can be involved in active role in the activities of Integrated Services Post for Teenagers.

“This is the cornerstone of the importance of Integrated Services Post,” Hasto said, during the Tanwir 1 Nasyiatul Aisyiyah series seminar in Pontianak City, citing written remarks, Saturday (20/1/2024).

Hasto said that it is very important for teenagers to get training in order to gain information and knowledge. Moreover, the existence of Integrated Services Post for Teenager, Hasto said, is also expected to be a solution to provide training and knowledge to teenagers to prepare their families later.

“The existence of adolescent posyandu to prepare teenagers to build their families is expected to serve as a reminder of this, so we need to diligently prepare teenagers to create a resilient family,” he said.

In the presence of Nasyiatul Aisyiyah cadre, Hasto also conveyed the importance of education against stunting given to teenagers. Of course, Hasto said, this is to emphasize the stunting numbers in Indonesia.

“The impact of stunting, its dangers and losses need to be conveyed to families. Through youth mentoring so that teenagers have the knowledge and expertise to be ready later especially when they are going to start improving the quality of the nation's successors starting from home,” he said.

On the same occasion, Pribudiarta Nur Sitepu as Deputy for Child Fulfillment of the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) stated that the quality of Indonesian children should be improved in order to achieve the golden Indonesian demographic bonus. He revealed that currently challenges and problems related to children reach 70 percent, and are targeted at children aged 1 to 13 years.

Pribudiarta added that many children are now caught in the trap of drug issues, crime and terrorism. This is the responsibility of all elements.

“This is our challenge because it turns out that there is a child dealing with a book, a child who belongs to an isolated minority group who is a victim of a terrorist network,” he said.

“Now the terrorist network is not just men, there are also women and even children,” he added.

In some cases, Pribudiarta also encountered children involved in pornography issues. At first they become victims, but over time the addiction becomes the abuser.

“Some of the cases we saw of children also being victims of pornography. This is a problem to come, because in that part of his brain he is damaged, in fact, yes, for a child character, the influence of programs is just like drugs are addictive, especially in children,” he said.

“If it's an adult, he might be able to come back again. But in children it is not possible if they are hooked,” Pribudiarta added.

Furthermore, Pribudiarta hopes that Nasyiatul Aisyiyah, which has a network throughout Indonesia, can synergize to help the government to improve the quality of life of Indonesian children.
