BRI Apreciates Developed Villages in Nugraha Karya Desa BRILiaN 2023

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk continued to give appreciation for villages that were considered actively growing better. The appreciation event, named Nugraha Karya Desa BRILiaN 2023, held on January 9-10 2024 in Jakarta.

Nugraha Karya Desa BRILiaN is an annual event organized by BRI as a series of Desa BRILiaN programs which focus on developing four aspects. First, BUMDesa, which become the engine of the village economy. Second, digitalization in the products and activities in villages. Third, sustainability which reflects the resilience and continuity of village development. Fourth, innovation to encourage villages to be creative.

BRI President Director Sunarso revealed that the BRILian Village program was BRI's real effort to support the Government in increasing economic resilience by empowering rural communities through capacity building, business training, digital literacy and sustainable development.

"Serving and empowering MSMEs was not just about business. It was about providing social welfare. Hopefully a concept like BRILian Village not only can be implemented in Indonesia, but also in other countries," said Sunarso, in a written statement, Monday (8/1/2024).

Desa BRILiaN Program has entered its fourth year. Desa BRILiaN was a village incubation program which aims to produce role models in village development. Until 2023, this program has been participated in by 3,178 villages who were actively taking initiatives and were committed to moving forward through the programs that have been planned. The objects of empowerment of Desa BRILiaN itself include village officials, BUMDesa administrators, Village Consultative Body, village enterpreneurs, as well as activists for superior products of rural areas (Prukades).

Desa BRILian Nugraha Karya Award

There were 15 villages of Desa BRILiaN which have gone through a series of strict selection processes and entered the judging stage on several aspects. They will later be selected to become the National Champion for BRIliaN Villages on the night of Nugraha Karya BRILiaN Village 2023.

Apart from that, there were also several other categories being contested, such as Green Village, Best Governance Village, Best Entrepreneurial Development, and Best Innovative and Digitalization Village. BRI also gives special awards to Potential Villages in the western, central and eastern regions.

In the 2023 Desa BRILian Nugraha Karya series, BRI also presented an activity entitled Bincang Desa BRILian. This talks explored the topics of strengthening business ecosystems, especially village business ecosystems, in order to explore new perspectives in strengthening the economy with experts and resource persons. The aim was to motivate all stakeholders to collaborate as drivers of the village economy. Bincang Desa BRILiaN also share the success story of BRILiaN villages.

8. Desa Daenaa (Gorontalo, Gorontalo)

9. Nagari Tanjung Haro Sikabu-kabu (Lima Puluh Kota, Sumatra Barat)

10. Desa Ibru (Muaro Jambi, Jambi)

11. Desa Lerep (Semarang, Jawa Tengah)
