REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Aid to Palestinians from Indonesian residents channeled through Lazis-NU arrived in Gaza on Monday (8/1/2024). The aid is distributed not only in Gaza but also to Jerusalem and the West Bank.

“Thank God, may all our brothers and sisters be able to reconcile the struggle of our brothers in Palestine. Aamiin,” said Care-lazisnu Executive Director Qohari Cholil in Jakarta.

The distribution of aid was also uploaded in various Lazis-nu social media account platforms. This became the second aid that Lazis-nu delivered to Palestine. This time the aid was distributed in cooperation with Althoure Silwan Women Center (AWC)

Assistance was provided in the form of ready-to-eat meals, grocery packages, tens of thousands of liters of clean water, hygiene kits and child nutrition, as well as aid packages for 200 Al Aqsa Mosque Guard Officers.

In a posting of photos on Lazis official social media, no aid has been received by Palestinians. They look enthusiastic and happy when they receive such channeled help.

For information, Lazis-NU has been and continues to invite the public to help Palestinians since the genocide committed by Israel in October 2023. This assistance is provided by Danone Indonesia, Wardah, Muslimat NU and several other parties.

Qohari explained other aid would also continue to be channeled gradually to the Palestinians. He explained that the assistance would later be provided by looking at the urgent needs that residents need. “In the near future we will dispatch an ambulance and this is in process,” he said.

Previously, LazisNu had received aid from Danone Indonesia amounting to Rp 1 billion to be channeled to Palestine. The aid was also supplemented by the delivery of 2,000 dashes or about 48,000 bottles of Aqua to Palestine through RS Ships TNI AL.

“We are committed not only to bring health to Indonesia through quality products, but also to have a positive impact on the environment and society,” said Vera Galuh Sugijanto, VP General Secretary of Danone.

Vera said this assistance is the trust of all Danone Indonesia employees and extended family for their concern for the brothers in Palestine. Aid was channeled through Lazismus Muhammadiyah and Lazis-nu.

“We hope that this assistance can arrive safely and on target. To that end, we collaborate with PBNU and NU Care-Lazisnu who we believe have strong capabilities and networks,” he said.
