REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Ahead of the third presidential debate, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) met with Defence Minister and number 2 presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto. The meeting was held at Rumah Makan Thousand Rasa Menteng on Friday (5/1/2024) evening.
According to the Coordinator of Special Staff of the President of RI, Ari Dwipayana, the meeting was held at Rumah Makan Seribu Rasa because the menu and cuisine in the restaurant are delicious.
“Tonight, Mr. President relaxed for a moment trying the cuisine of the archipelago in Rumah Makan Thousand Rasa Menteng. At the dinner, the President was accompanied by Menhan Bp. Prabowo Subianto,” Ari said when Republika was confirmed.
“For dinner try the cuisine of the archipelago. He said the food at the diner was delicious,” Ari continued.
Ari said that the meeting between Jokowi and Prabowo lasted for an hour, namely from 19:00pm to 8:05pm. However, he admitted that he did not know what the two discussed at dinner together.
“I don't know what he was talking about at dinner. He said that the archipelago cuisine in the dining house is delicious,” Ari said.
From the photos circulating, President Jokowi appears to be sitting face to face with Prabowo Subianto. When meeting Prabowo, the President wore a long-sleeved white shirt. Prabowo appeared to be wearing a long-sleeved batik shirt. As the two chatted, Jokowi appeared to laugh.
Jokowi's meeting with Prabowo was held ahead of the third presidential debate. Debate to be held at Istora Senayan on Sunday (7/1/2024) with themes of defense, security, international relations, globalization, geopolitics, and foreign politics.
Jokowi himself is said to have openly shown his support for Prabowo and Gibran. This was also stated by Golkar Party General Chairman Airlangga Hartarto who said that Jokowi's support was clear. “Yes, it is clear,” Airlangga said at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Friday (5/1/2024).
When asked what he meant, Airlangga was reluctant to explain further. “Obviously it does not need to be translated,” he said.
