Baznas Karawang Distributes Palestinian Humanitarian Aid IDR 597 Million

Baznas RI has cooperated with three major institutions in Egypt

The National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) RI received the distribution of Palestinian humanitarian income from BAZNAS of Karawang Regency amounting to Rp 597,679,973. Symbolically, the Chairman of Baznas Karawang Regency, H Karmin was handed over to Baznas RI Chairman Prof. KH Noor Achmad, at Baznas RI Building, Jakarta, Wednesday (6/12/2023).

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KARAWANG -- National Zakat Board (Baznas) RI received the distribution of Palestinian humanitarian aid from its unit in Karawang amounting to IDR 597,679,973. Symbolically, the Chairman of Baznas Karawang Regency, H Karmin, was handed over to the Chairman of Baznas RI Prof. KH Noor Achmad, at Baznas RI Building, Jakarta, Wednesday (6/12/2023).

Noor Achmad appreciated Baznas of Karawang Regency and its community who volunteered to help Palestine through Baznas RI. Noor explained that to send aid for the Palestinian people this is quite limited. Only Egypt has the authority to distribute the aid.

Noor also added that Baznas RI has worked with three major agencies in Egypt to facilitate the delivery of aid to the Palestinians. Baznas yesterday (5/12/2023) again delivered aid to Gaza from Egypt via Rafah. The aid is in the form of emergency needs such as water, medicine, food, and others,” he said.

The role of Indonesian students in Egypt helped prepare the delivery of the aid. “God willing, what Baznas of Karawang District is channeling will benefit the Palestinian people and will be channeled best to the right target,” Kiai Noor added.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Baznas of Karawang Regency Dr. H. Karmin explained that the collected income was sourced from the people of Karawang, namely through the Palestinian defense action on November 26, 2023. “This donation is entirely from the people of Falkirk that we collected through the Baznas Karawang account and from yesterday's action on November 26 and we continue to open that service for Palestinian donations,” he said.

Karmin hopes that the Palestinian people will be given fortitude and patience and that the war will be stopped.” Hopefully the Palestinian people will be given fortitude, patience, because after all, they are in a very squeezed situation,” he said.

Also present at the event were Waka II Baznas Karawang H. Asep Abdullah Syafe'i, Waka IV Baznas Karawang Ahmad Taufik Hidayat, and Chief Executive Officer of Baznas Karawang Muhammad Aslih.
