REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MALANG -- Malang was rocked by an earthquake but it did not have the potential to cause a Tsunami.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) noted that an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 rocked Malang Regency, East Java, Saturday (10/4/2021) at around 14:15 western Indonesian time (WIB).
Through its official length @infoBMKG, the earthquake was at 8.95 LS, 112.48 East Longitude or 90 kilometers southwest of Malang Regency with a depth of 25 kilometers.
"There is no potential for a tsunami," wrote @infoBMKG.
"Be careful of aftershocks that may occur," said @infoBMKG.
The earthquake was also felt in Surabaya. One of the housewives in Tandes, Surabaya, told jatimnow.com that she felt a tremor in her house.
"About 30 seconds I felt the vibration. I thought the headache was due to shaking, it was an earthquake," she said.
The mother also mentioned that the items in the house had shifted from their place. "My sewing machine had shifted. Thank God, now I can't feel it anymore."
