REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan met President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at State Palace on Tuesday. In the meeting, Anies revealed the latest developments, related to the integration of public transportation in the capital city.
In addition, Anies discussed the plan to hold Formula E electric car race in 2020. According to him, Jokowi has supported the event.
“He (Jokowi) gave us support and appreciation. Insya Allah (God’s will) we will finalize it,” said Anies on Tuesday.
Anies said he explained the process to hold the electric car race. He also consulted the event and talked about the economic impacts.
The race event was believed to encourage the economic development in Jakarta. Anies said economic growth that increased in the capital could contribute to growth at the national level.
Team from Formula E electric car race currently still studies the routes that will be used for the event. Anies said Jokowi guaranteed support, in the form of facilities for the teams and drivers who would participate.
“President gives his support, central government will facilitate it. Because there will be formula vehicles, there are things, such as customs and immigration to be handled first,” Anies added.
