REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALEMBANG -- Minister of Religion Lukman Hakim Saifuddin has appealed to all State Civil Apparatus (ASN) to spread positive energy in maintaining togetherness. Especially in the current political year, maintaining togetherness is important, the minister stated in his written speech read out by Governor of South Sumatra Herman Deru on the 73rd Charity Day of the Ministry of Religion in Palembang on Thursday.

Saifuddin also highlighted caring for harmony and placing oneself above all groups and interest groups. He extended the same invitation to all elements of the nation to maintain togetherness and the integrity of fellow nationals.

Furthermore, he said, all behavior and attitude that could cause harm to fellow brothers will be avoided. The minister appealed to all to avoid mutual hate and hurting sentiments of fellow citizens as well as to not spread slander and not harbor animosity towards others.

According to Saifuddin, the entire ASN and ranks of the Ministry of Religion must unify all elements, serve as creators, and weave the nation's strong social fabric. Every ASN must exemplify simplicity, honesty, and sincerity in giving charity to all citizens.

Likewise in day-to-day tasks, every apparatus of the Ministry of Religion must be able to demonstrate good performance and trustworthy leadership as well as offer convenience to the wider community for gaining access to religious services.

Indeed, the Government, through roles and functions of the Ministry of Religion, provides religious services to all religious people through various facilities. The Ministry of Religion holds public services in the field of religion with ongoing innovation, he stated.

During the 73rd Charity Day, the ASN and Ministry of Religion of South Sumatra were awarded for dedication spanning 10, 20, and 30 years. Moreover, the Qur'an memorizing competition for santri, or Islamic school students, in South Sumatra was also included.
