REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BIAK -- Religious Affairs Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin stated that in Indonesia, Pancasila guarantees the practice of religious teachings as protected by the state. In fact, the government policies must not contradict with the teachings of religious rules, he stressed.

"Through the commemoration of the Ministry of Religion's Charity Day, we are reminded again of the importance of guaranteeing religious rights in the implementation of Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution, especially the Almighty Godhead principles in the Preamble and Article 29 of the Republic of Indonesia Constitution," the minister stated at the commemoration of Religious Service Day of the Ministry of Religion as read out by Assistant III Regional Secretary of Biak Andarias Franky Lamecki here on Thursday.

"I taught all ranks of the Ministry of Religion, especially in the current political year, to always emanate energy together, care for harmony, and put the interests of all over and above ourselves," he stated in line with this year's Ministry of Religion Charity Day themed "Keeping Together."

According to the minister of justice, the same invitation was extended to all elements of the nation to maintain togetherness and integrity among fellow nationals and to avoid all utterances, behaviors, and outlooks that can cause harm to fellow brothers.

"Let us avoid reciprocating hate, vilifying one another, spreading slander, mutually fostering animosity and hurting other fellow countrymen," Saifuddin further stressed.

The entire state apparatuses and ranks of the Ministry of Religion must be the masters, builders, and weavers of our diverse nationalities. The minister noted that all should exemplify simplicity, honesty, and sincerity in giving charity to citizens.

"In daily tasks, every apparatus of the Ministry of Religion must be able to demonstrate good performance and values, exhibit trustworthy leadership, and offer convenience to the wider community to obtain access to religious services in an accountable and quality manner," he stated.

The peak commemoration of the 73rd Service Day of the Ministry of Religion was marked by a flag ceremony led by Assistant III Secretary of State Biak Andarias F. Lamecki and attended by Kakamenag Biak Asden J. Naiborhu and the distribution of prizes for painting murals.
