Diffable sex workers to get psychological treatments: Yohana

Diffable sex workers were caught in Larantuka, East Nusa Tenggara.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALANGKARAYA -- Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) Yohana Susana Yambise regretted involvement of persons with disabilities in commercial sex. She said it was an extraordinary crime to let it happened.

These persons were caught by Civil Service Police Unit in Larantuka City, East Flores in East Nusa Tenggara. Minister said it should not have happened for persons with disabilites.

"I feel that this really should not happen. We are sad to see that if there is such a thing. I think that is an extraordinary crime (to let it happened)," Yohana said in Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan, Thursday (Dec 13).

Yohana said diffable sex workers who were caught with several other prostitutes would get a psychological approach and trauma healing. She did not want such an incident to happen again for them.

Moreover, the welfare and protection of women, children, the disabled and the elderly were concern of the government. She also did not want violence and discrimination to people with disabilities.

"If there is still violence against people with disabilities, I think this has been very extraordinary crime that we cannot accept, cannot be tolerated," she said.
